I brough home an extra drivetrain last night. I went to put the engine on the stand and needed longer bolts. I went to Lowes and Home depo and none carry a 12mm Bolt in a 1.5 pitch. I looked breifly on line at "Bolt Depo" didnt even have them. Anyone else run into this problem? Tomorrow I will start my easter egg hunt all over.

Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but wasn't there a relatively recent thread on engine stands where someone used bolts from the car (lower control arm bolts?) on their engine stand? This doesn't work for you if it's an 'extra' motor, but there's probably a spare chassis where you got your spare drivetrain?

Check your local hardware Ace or unbranded hardware store. They usually have more in the way of nuts and bolts. If you can't find it there or with Rxter's suggestion, McMaster-Carr should be able to get it to you easily in 1 day. My dad has actually ordered from there with ground shipping and it was delivered same day (NJ warehouse to MD house).

I know because I checked about 6 different hardware stores and none had the correct threads and ended up ordering them from BoltDepot.com Part #6344. ( I had ordered them before I saw the thread we are refering to)
PS: I order them from www.boltdepot.com because they were only $2.52 ea.

Front wheels, lower control arm, front mounting bolts should be more than long enough and they ARE M12x1.5 . Bolt length is 100mm (underside of head to end bolt) thread length is 30mm.
You may need a whole stack of washers between the bolt head and the engine stand mount (1/2" will work well available from HD no doubt) depending upon how long the hole in the engine stand mount plate is.
Borrow 1 from each side of your 928 - you can probably just about get them out with the 928 on its wheels. DONT DRIVE YOUR 928 WITHOUT THEM. When you get two new bolts just put the new ones into your 928. This will let you get the motor out of your friends truck quickly, just leaves you without a 928 until you get the replacement bolts.
Edit - PS by only removing the one bolt from each side of the car you shouldn't affect your alignment.

Here in Columbus, there is a local business, called Metro Industries. When I am blocked by easy access to any metric bolt size and pitch, I end up going here. They haven't failed me yet. Rare as I've needed to use them.....
McMaster-Carr, sure, but you have to wade through their massive super-thin paper catalogue, and be charged three to four times the cost, if you could find the part locally.
Some people, because of their rural location, will be stuck with this 'option'...
