ONE Owner '64 356C Restoration (??!!)
I'm looking for some expert advice on valuation and recommendations on whether or not I should restore my inherited 1964 Porsche 356C. The car was picked up by my uncle in Stuttgart for my father after having had his '57 Bel Air convertible stolen.
This car was a daily driver for my now departed father from '64 to '89 and the odometer has turned over twice, recently eclipsing 200K miles. My father being an Ivy League graduate aerospace engineer did his own tear down and rebuild including rings, pistons and cam in '77 at the first turn of the odometer.
On the basis that the interior is original, there has been one repaint with body work and all rubber and chrome remain original I am conflicted on a personal and a business level as to whether an inheritance car with this single owner history should be restored or left in its current state?
This car will never leave the family and will be inherited by my son when my time has come...
