When you consider the age of the 356 (and the age range of original owners) you can expect families to be moving "grandpa's" old car on the farm.

As stated earlier, word of mouth is the key for the best opportunities, so broaden your list of acquaintances, and bring cash.

I also guess if you knew if there were barn finds out there it wouldn't be much of "barn find" would it?

What if the shoe were on the other foot? Is it so unthinkable to pay a fair price?
I had a conversation with my 11 y/o son earlier today, he wants to profit trading crap on his video game, he's been "scammed" and was talking about scamming the scammers. I made a point about being honest, and said it's OK to "agree" to a trade even if you win, but not OK to lie or cheat. If some barn owner wants to sell his $100K car for $30K, not my job to argue with him, that's not dishonest. Yeh, I'd love to find one of those "barn finds" as a steal, like my neighbor per my post above. Yeh, I think they are still out there among all us aging dinosuars who grew up in the 50's.

Mine was not exactly a barn find but had been handed down to a guy in a will. I managed to buy it last year for a very good price so you just have to be in the right place at the right time
