They are still out there. A year or two ago I saw a guy picking up a ~60ish Conv. D from a neighbor's house down the hill. Stopped to talk. It actually dawned on me later that the buyer fricken STOLE the car. Original as all hell, i think the buyer (who knew what he was doing) paid in the 30's for a 100K+ car.

The fact that they kept it almost 50 years, hidden in a garage and not barn actually.

So excuse the 'barn' title and if you want replace it with the 'garage' word.

As much as they have appreciated, that's way over the top.

Not up to date, but a Speedster project might go for $100K, but no way $300K. Check prices of restored Speedsters and back it up into reality before resto costs. I do remember Adam from Unobtainium selling a Speedster hulk for ~$60K a few years ago.

And the market continues to climb. Nice cars are $300+, really nice cars are $400+, and perfect number matching cars with knock-offs are $500

Former co-worker of mine has her late brother's speedster in her garage. My boss offered her $50,000 almost ten years ago and she wouldn't sell.
