Default Emblem Placement

I want to restore the "Porsche" and "C" emblems to the back of my 1964 coupe. Does anyone out there know the critical placement instructions so that I can restore them to their proper positions?

TIA

Dan

If you look at the rear sheet metal from the back side (above the muffler), you'll likely see where the holes were filled in. If you're lucky, it was done with Bondo, and (after putting painter's tape on the outside of the car) VERY carefully work a very small drill or dental prod through the holes. A jeweler's file can work the hole open from there. If they're welded shut, you've at least got your measurements.
This is a lot easier to do, as well as badge reinstallation, if the motor is out of the car.

Here's a few data points from the 356 Registry. I don't think you can search if you aren't a member but you should join!

Thanks. As a 356 Registry member I will follow the link.

Also, how many studs are there supposed to be on the back of the PORSCHE emblem? I have seen some cars with just the holes there and see only two holes.

No bondo on this car. Everything welded up! (I already was hoping for that!)

Looks like two studs for a C: http://www.stoddard.com/356-1/decals...59-301-06.html

Thanks! I guess I got the wrong one but since I'm not into the whole concour scene with my little bandito, it will be okay to put the 5 stud one on my C!
