Need help selling 1962 356B convertible
Hey Gang:
My very good friend's father (who helped me get bitten by the Porsche bug when I was 15) is selling his red 1962 356B convertible (not a garage queen, but very nice). He has owned it for 31 years. The car is currently in Middlebury, VT. I will be up there in two weeks for a guy's weekend and intend take some photos and perhaps a start-up/idle/rev video.
I am not familiar with 356's and would like some guidance taking the "right" photos. I plan to shoot the exterior (including lower doors), engine and interior. What would a potential buyer want to see?
Thanks for any help.

The lower half of the car will need to be photographed extensively, especially that you are in the rust belt. 356's seem to have rusted even when brand new. They all also look to have rolled through a bowling ball factory at 100 mph, meaning that the floors are usually really banged up. Not sure what they all ran over but it happened frequently. Numbers on engine and transmission will be important as well.

Do a quick search.
I wish you all success.

Here is a more complete description from the seller:
I bought my 1962 Porsche 356 B Cabriolet from a friend in VT in the early autumn of 1981. He had purchased the car from a fellow out in Utah or California and my friend owned it for 3-4 years.
After I bought the car, I drove it home to Cleveland where it remained until 7-8 years ago. At that time, I drove it back to VT (we have homes in suburban Cleveland and in VT near the town of Middlebury).
So, I have known/owned my Porsche for about 35 years. It is essentially original. The car is an "S" model with a 6 volt electrical system and four wheel drum brakes. I believe all the numbers match but I will have to confirm that belief later in the month when I am in VT.
So far as I know, my Porsche has never been raced or damaged.....that is certainly the case over the past 35 years. It is red with a black interior and top. The carpet is gray. Everything on the car works.
The original color was a sort of a champagne which I did not like. For her 25th birthday (1987), I gave my car a new paint job. The old paint was removed to the bare metal and a Porsche red paint was applied. The paint still looks fine today.
There is no rust at all on the car although there is a very small uneven spot in front of one of the doors. You have to look hard to see it.
The seats were entirely plastic when the car was new. I had the seat bottoms and seat backs replaced with leather at about the time the new paint was applied. They are in fine shape today.
The only other change is that, in the early 1980's, I removed the original radio (which I still have) and added an AM/FM radio cassette deck. It still works quite well with a voltage converter.
Generally I drive the car about 300-500 miles per year. It has never given me any problems. I have it serviced regularly and have most, if not all, of the service records going back 30+ years.
I believe I even have some records from the 60's and/or 70's.
You probably want to know why I am selling my car. The reason is simply that it has become quite valuable and I don't use it enough to justify keeping it. I also own a 1967 Mustang convertible which I drive regularly in the good weather here in Cleveland.
I am only able to get to VT 8-10 times per year so my ability to drive my Porsche is limited. She is a great car but the time has come to find her new home.
I hope to add better photos in the next few weeks.
