Can anybody tell me how to check 356 VIN, any website?

there were no VINs (that I know of) assigned between 84954 (the end of the Speedster) & 85501 (the start of the Conv D. sometimes, an engine # was assigned (owner &/or DMV error) as the VIN &/or on the title /reg paperwork - but that doesn't make it the "right" Porsche VIN.

doesn't look like the location or font of the factory numbers to me... but we could use more info if he wants better insight... for starters...
yr? model? engine #? tranny #? photos of all the numbers close up & from feet away? photos of the whole car top & bottom?

or he can educate himself (esp if he's fearful of the answers)...

More info on 85091. Ked is right, does not look like the font or vin location for a 356.
