First 356 – finally!
After looking on and off for over 3 years we are finally proud 356 owners. We picked her up this weekend.
Mild weather here in Delaware provided a great opportunity to take her for a spin on Sunday. Had a wonderful drive along some of the many winding back roads. What fun!
Stopped just long enough to snap a few pictures with the cell phone camera (forgot the good camera in my haste to get on the road).

Thanks for all the great comments.
Will try to get some more photos next time she's out (however she looks best from 10+ feet or while behind the steering wheel). Let's hope this mild winter here in Delaware continues for at least another week or two.
Not sure about the current color, it a metallic charcoal grey of some sort. She went though a color change many years ago. Original color is 6404, light ivory. Plan to drive her for a year or so and then do a much needed repaint. Still trying to decide if we will take her back to the light ivory or not. Will be formulating a plan as part of attending upcoming 356 gatherings. Already registered for the ECH.
JoAnne: Still wish we could have bought Helga from you back in 2005, but it was great to hear she went back to her original owner. And thanks for answering some of my questions during the search. I am sure we will have even more as we make improvements to her in the coming years.

Was not sure if your '58 was light ivory or the original ivory from '58 (and I am not even sure how much of a difference there is between the two). The color of your '58 is very nice and will surely be in the running.

JoAnne,
Your color is the correct shade of ivory for 57, 58 and 59 cars... the color code is 5704...
Some of those cars don't look as 'buttercream' as they should be... I guess this color fades after such a long time... but checking with the experts on the subject I got assured that yours is the correct shade of ivory for the T2 cars!
