Default The Old Outlaw

I have a 63S. I had the Maestro r.i.p., do a full on engine redo for me probably 12 or 13 years ago no expense spared except I should have had the full flow oil filter added. I had retired a hot rod Cal look Bug as my work car and made the 356 my daily driver for the next 4 or 5 years. When I decided to get something with air conditioning and heat, I live in north Texas, I retired the 356. So It has been sitting for 2 years. In fact I had not started it in 3 months till Sunday. I forgot why I love that car. They are just plain fun cars. I have an Imagine modded 930 and yet the 356 is so much more basic it can't be described unless you have one. Anyway I had thought about selling the 356 but have decided to repaint it in silver the color I should have gone to 15 years ago. I'll be taking it back down to the bare metal again so maybe it will be right this time.

Since I got my 60 B Coupe last summer, I probably drive it more often than my 05 997S. Hard to describe, but 356's are just very special cars!

Yup, there's just something about 356's.
It's like owning a Harley... kick back and just cruise baby, cruise..............................

I told my wife I she could sell me before the 356 would go and she did a double take. I don't know if that meant she would rather sell me or the 356 but it was really funny. I did the interior in full leather and those 5 years it was my daily driver the rear quarter panels shrunk up and need to be redone. The only other change I will probably make are some type of mag wheels. Possibly a Fuchs style.

very well put - the unique basicness of the 356 transcends, and can still be enjoyed, everyday. btw, the Fuchs mount on disc brake cars only. 356 silver patina defines presence.
