Pilotshark- I remembered where I read the article- MotorTrend, September 2002. Here is the link to the article!! 0-60 and quarter mile give my 964 a run for the money, and all with a 4-cylinder!

I believe Beck got into trouble with Porsche - If memory serves me right, one of his replicas took some headlines at the same auto show where Porsche was first showing the current Boxter. Porsche was not at all happy as you can imagine and came down heavily with a team of lawyers.

The "Beck" cars (including a 550 spyder replica) are actually built in Brazil and are still available to anyone who wants to import them directly.

The Intermeccanica Speedster and convertible D(made in Canada)are by most reports, wonderful cars. While preserving the look and character of the original, they have created what I've heard is a superior vehicle for everyday driving - Tubular frame, new suspension geometry. Options like all around disk brakes, heated seats ,etc. are also available.

Has anyone heard anything about this maker? They post this car on ebay occasionaly. I ordered the video and it appears to be a very nice car. Any help/info would be appreciated.

Hi Mike,

I can't wait to see your photos. I've always fancied a speedster replica. Was it ready built or are you building it yourSelf?

Cheers,

David
