One thing that will always be asked is, "is it real". I would rather wait until I had the funds. I know other who had fake 550's, Cobras etc. They always were afraid of that question and sold them in a short period of time.

Well, FWIW, I've had a "fake" Beck 550 Spyder since 2002. I drive it every Sunday, drive it like I stole it, and it has a blue printed, bullet proof type 4 Jake Raby engine in it that's sweet, and practically maintenance free. Try any of that with an original.
I also have a "real" 87' 930, and a "real" 02' 996TT X50. Guess which of the three gets more stares, "thumbs-up" and approving comments? The "fake" Spyder.
Just enjoy the damn car.

The do Speedsters and A Coupes. They can make it very period with a hot VW engine...or then can give you power windows, full ac, and a Subaru boxer engine or anything in between...and they have several variations on the bodies. They've been around for years.
Remember these are replicas...the bodies are very nicely done glass...the interiors are spectacular.
I'm guessing their prices are in the mid 30s and up.
