Went to a local Car Show today (pics).....
......and took both 356's. The show was for cars of the 50's, 60's and 70's only. They were crowd pleasers and that pleased us. Needless to say they were the ONLY Porsche's there. Many folks knew what they were, but had never seen a 356 let alone a Speedster in person. It was fun to listen to the comments. Seems like the women liked the Speedster better. It was "Cute". The men went for the Coupe more. No one called them a Porch and only one person thought the Speedster was a... his words " Wanna be" until he looked closer. It was Interesting and very enjoyable even if it was 100 degrees in the shade today!!!!
Gretchen's first show in R Can Saw. At least we were in the shade.
Gunter and Gretchen together
Speedster after her first ride in her Speedster. She liked it. Hung her head out the window most of the time. I had a good grip on her or she was out the window!
All tucked in their beds.

Hey Sooner... How tough are the sooners going to be this year, huh?? Tougher than the razorbacks, that's for darned sure!!!
There were interesting American Cars by the dozen. There were a couple of MG's and a neat Morris Minor and a Triumph and that was about it for the European cars. Someone came up to us during the event to tell us that one of the phamacists in town has a 356 B coupe that he bought in 1964 when he graduated college. We didn't know that anyone in town had a 356 except for us. He's restored it and it sits in his garage, like a treasure. We just keep hearing about Porsche's scattered around here and there. I swear one of these days we are going to get a call about an ol' Porch in a barn and are we interested in buying it. I know it!!! If we are lucky, it's going to be a 4 cam Carrera!!!!
