Default 356 engine lid lockout!

Engine lid release cable breaks with engine lid locked. Creative ideas welcome
for method of unlocking and opening lid w/o lowering engine from underneath?

You would be hard pressed to drop the engine with lid locked. Take off engine lid grill. Reach in and trip the lever.

Thanks. Grilles have been removed. Vent openings near top edge of lid reveal bolts which
may require special tool to reach and be removed. Openings at bottom only
allow minimal touch of lock housing.

What year 356? http://forum.porsche356registry.org/...hp?f=1&t=48216 I know someone used a borescope through rear engine tin rubber to visualize lever and trip with bent metal clothes hanger. Removing the engine grill works on T6B and C models though. The link shows where there should be an access hole on earlier cars. But that assumes original body panels.
