Default My first ever 911 on order(I hope it's everything I thought it would be)

First all let me thank everybody on this forum, for all the great info. I'm a current E46 M3 owner and have dream someday of owning a 911. Well I have final took the plunge. Here is my order.
  • 997 C2S
  • J2 Lapis blue metallic
  • AT black full leather
  • 498 delete model designations
  • XAA aerokit (I know that I'm one of the few who like the kit)
  • 267 self dimming mirrors
  • 640 sport chrono
  • XCZ sport shifter
  • P15 power seats
  • 342 heated seats
  • XME rear ctr. console painted lapis blue
  • 680 Bose (I know it could be better, but it's the best that is offered)
  • XLF sport exhaust
  • CPT storage bin w/ crest
  • XPV steering wheel alum look w/ multi-function
I know the wheel is subject to criticism, but they just change it to where it is only aluminum on the bottom so it is not so standout. I might change the wheels to classics before my May build. Though I do plan on some mods and one of them was a aftermarket wheel with a chrome lip (dish rear). the other mods are -20mm spring(I really like how the GT3 sits),EVO intake, AWE high flow cats. and computer remapping.

Hey congratulations. You'll love your 911. I picked mine up last May'05 and the novelty still hasn't worn off.

Good luck. Think about the nav and the illuminated side sills. I just had the side sills installed and they look absolutely fantastic.

i certainly agree with the nav-if you are going to get a bunch of options, add the nav. the sport exhaust is great.

After driving an E46 M3 for 4 years, I bought a C2S around 8 months (4200 miles) ago. While I LOVED my M3, I'll say that I am truly PASSIONATE about the P-car. It took a little getting used to the manual sport shift tranny after driving SMG for those years. I kind of miss the more roomy back seats, but have found that I can squeeze my daughter's teenage friends in the back, as long as only one extra passenger rides with us, as there is NO room behind my seat. Trunk and payload capacity is of course less, but the 911 still transports alot of stuff if you pack creatively. Next car for me...........deposit placed to order 997TT---I'm hooked! Enjoy!!

Thanks, but I just don't think I would use the nav enough to justify the cost. As for the illuminated side sills I do like, but feel I'm already high in the options and about to bust my budget. This forum has already cause me to add the sport chrono, sport exhaust, sport shifter and storage lid w/crest. Cytoboy, thanks for the extra insight on switch from a M to a P-car. I don't think I'll miss the M to much when I put her up for sale, I know I won't when the 997S arrives. This will be a very long spring for me( not counting the strike may make it longer)

My M3 lease will expire on Monday and it has been a wonderful car. I felt that the 997S was even more fun to drive and ordered one as well. I'm sure that you will be pleased.

Now that's truely a nice option unlike the crest on the headrests (like I have). At least you can see it on casual inspection.

TH - I believe you can order one. There are two options for this that I am aware of:

1) CPT - Storege Lid Bin with Porsche Crest
2) CUV - Storage Compartment Lid with Model Logo

Both of them are listed at $290 in the 2006 Porsche North America Order Guide.

I have an '04 996 with the Model Logo on teh storage lid as pictured below. Sorry for the crappy picture.

I thought of doing the headrest, but felt that in a coupe you would never notice them.
