Default Defroster Fan speed problem

Had to run the defroster today as I drove home in the rain (twice it's seen rain since ownership) and the windshield fogged on me. I turned the defroster on, but it also turns the fan on full blast. Is there anyone that has rewired the fan so it blows at the speed set on the fan control ****?

Thanks in advance.

If you don't like the cyclonic effect, just use the normal controls - top slider full right, bottom slider full left, face-level vents closed, fan and temp wherever you like. The button is a special setting - full fan speed, recirc, a/c compressor engaged, defroster vents only - all in one step. Kinda like an "emergency: windshield clear" setting. Hardly ever necessary, but handy when you want it.

I think that rewiring the defog to work on the fan switch would require taking the CCU apart and re-wiring it....you first!
