Porsche 959 Komfort

For just over $1 mil, own the fastest street-legal production vehicle of its time!

It’s not everyday that a Porsche 959 shows up on the auction block. Developed in the early 1980s and released in 1988, the Porsche 959 Komfort was the pinnacle of sports cars at the time. With only 337 made, these cars were a hot commodity when they were released, but nowadays, they’re even more sought after. That’s why when Sotheby’s added a 1988 Porsche 959 Komfort listing to their website, we had to take a look!

This 1988 Porsche 959 has been immaculately cared for since its purchase. Only having two owners, the vehicle is still low-mileage and in great shape. The only drawback is the second owner changed the paint color to match his own love of black vehicles when he purchased it in 1999. However, never fear, the owner has reverted the paint color back to its original beauty.

The 959 is the result of Porsche wanting to test their limits in the ‘80s. Developing a twin-turbocharged race car that could get to speeds of almost 200 mph, Porsche put every bit of R&D they had into this vehicle. The result is a beautiful sports car that still has the signature look and feel of a Porsche, but on steroids. At the time of production, the 959 was the world’s fastest street-legal vehicle. This car is amazing!

For those interested, Sotheby’s is valuing the car for just over $1 million. A large increase from the $225,000 the original vehicle cost, but with how well this 959 has been maintained and the rarity, its probably worth every penny!
