Over 150,000 event goers go back in time to the 1940s to admire classic cars at Goodwood Revival Festival’s recent 20th anniversary.

There was a very special atmosphere this year at the recent 20th edition of the popular Goodwood Revival Festival in the south of England. About 150,000 guests dressed in the styles of the ’40s to the ’60s! There, they strolled around the festival area among well-preserved racing cars from up to 1966. This included three early Porsche 911’s which acted as pace cars on the occasion of the “70 Years of Porsche Sports Cars” anniversary.

Porsche Classic also presented itself in the look of a historic workshop. The vintage garage included numerous highlights from the classic original parts range. Event goers saw such items as the reissued tool bags for all Porsche 356 and 911 F models. In order to also demonstrate the quality of the factory restoration, a 356 Carrera 2 GS engine of type 587/1, restored to customer order, was regularly started.

For Goodwood‘s anniversary of the vintage racing car festival, Porsche Classic also provided two special exhibits for visitors. Visitors were able to follow the workshop maintenance of a 911 F model’s bodywork through individually presented repair stages. This demonstration allowed visitors to experience the incredibly precise, detailed craftwork involved in a restoration.

Porsche Classic partners from Great Britain also restored a first-generation 911 to celebrate 70 years of Porsche sports cars. This car already participated in events such as the Silverstone Classic, Le Mans Classic, and the Oldtimer Grand Prix. Races which featured well known drivers such as Derek Bell and Richard Attwood. The Goodwood Revival Festival gave visitors the opportunity to admire the vehicle’s striking new racing paintwork.

Porsche Classic is responsible for supplying all vehicles whose production time generally dates back more than ten years. This includes all aspects from care and technical literature through delivery and reproduction of original parts to complete restoration. Porsche Classic is a division of the Zuffenhausen-based sports car manufacturer.
