A Cool $250,000 Gets You Everything Needed to Build Unlimited Vintage Replica Porsches

Are you the type of person who can’t get enough of the Porsche 356 Speedster, 550 Spyder or Super 90? Ever dream of owning your own car company and building/selling cars? Well, now you can buy an entire, turnkey replica Porsche operation that includes molds, jigs, plans and tools. All you need to do is scrounge up a cool quarter mil and click “Buy It Now” on this eBay listing.

It’s likely the craziest thing we’ve ever seen on the auction site, and undoubtedly the coolest. The business for sale is Replica Car Manufacturer, a company known for producing quality Porsche replicas since 1987. They’ll even throw in the trademark with the purchase, so all you need is a building to house all this stuff.

You’ll get everything you need to build replicas of the aforementioned trio of Porsche classics. All three utilize a great deal of Volkswagen Beetle parts, including the front suspension. The rear suspension consists of a swing axle with torsion bars and is a take on the Beetle’s design.

Engines in all cars are air cooled, except the 550S, which uses a water-cooled engine. If you like to live dangerously, you can also fit a Subaru EJ 20 motor in any of the cars with a VW transaxle gearbox. Obviously you’ll need to find and purchase these motors (and the other mechanicals), but Beetle bits are everywhere.

So, if you’ve ever dreamed of building cars for a living (and who hasn’t?), this looks like a really easy path to do just that. Or, you can just build yourself a bunch of replica Porsches and drive the wheels off of them. After all, it’s your $250 grand.
