Revisiting Rennsport Reunion and those Stunning CPR Classic Restos

By -

California car restoration pros showcase their amazing Rennsport Reunion rides.

Restoring Porsches is big business these days. To the point where even Porsche themselves are offering such services. But few that are in the old car resto business do it as well as CPR Classic out of Fallbrook, California. They’ve been restoring old Porsches for 40 years now, specializing in air-cooled 356s and 911s. And they brought some of their latest finished products to Rennsport Reunion VI for everyone to drool over.

That lineup included a handful of freshly finished projects and a few cars that are actually for sale. But one 911 in particular stood out from the rest, as we saw in this short recap video from CPR. “We’ve been displaying some of our finest cars we’ve restored,” said CPR’s Dylan Doherty. “Our big debut is our CPR ST, which is now complete. We’re really excited about that.”

Of course, Doherty also pointed out what we already know. And that’s the fact that the Rennsport Reunion is likely the singular event that all lovers of Porsches should attend. “The factory flies over 20, 30 of their very best cars to run here. With some of the best race car drivers in the world. And it’s all around probably the best event you could ever attend, being a Porsche enthusiast.”

Judging from this footage and what we’ve seen from the folks here at Rennlist, it’s hard to argue with that logic. Stunning restorations, rare Porsches, and the very best vintage and modern motorsports action around? Sounds like heaven to us!
