Power to Weight to Sunset Ratio Perfect in New 718 Boxster Ad

Power to weight is an important ratio in the 718 Boxster S, but as this new Porsche commercial shows us, it’s not quite as important as power to weight to sunsets.

As you can see below, the spot gloriously shows off Stuttgart’s new mid-engine maneuverability-marvel being bathed in the dying light of a gorgeous sunset. As the light fades, Mrs. PorscheOwner says to Mr. PorscheOwner: “Again.”

Mr. PorscheOwner aims to please, because he launches that Boxster up through the twisties and cut-backs and beautiful bends, from 500 meters in elevation up to 1500. Just high enough to catch another sunset.

Of course, you don’t become Mrs. PorscheOwner by being satisfied. She gives him a look that says “let’s go,” and they’re off chasing another sunset. But can you blame her for wanting to feel a little more of that spirited four-cylinder flat turbo pushing 350 agile horses up the mountainside?

Technically, according to Porsche’s description, this ad is really for the 300-hp 718 Boxster, not the Boxster S. But if you look at the car in the video, it’s the S. Which may just be the difference in how many sunsets you catch in a day. But regardless of which 718 Boxster you’ve got, driving off into the sunset sure seems like a hoot.
