Porsche Thanks Electricity While Dropping Hints at the Future

With the Mission E coming, and an electric 911 most likely on its way, Porsche wants to make sure you’re feeling the electricity in the air.

In a new official spot published on YouTube this week, Porsche thanks electricity for such marvels as the electric guitar, the big city lights, “the lap record at the Nürburgring,” “the 17th overall victory at Le Mans, and the catalyst for the sports car of the future.” Certainly all good things, though I would throw the electric toaster in there too.

After all this gratitude, we then get to see some electrifying footage of a 918 Spyder, a Panamera S E-Hybrid, and a Cayenne S E-Hybrid lighting up Laguna Seca.

While the footage is certainly enjoyable, perhaps what’s most interesting about the vid is its title: “Porsche E-Performance. Dawn of a new era.” E-Performance, as we find out in the link provided in the description, is apparently the direction of the future.

The Porsche E-Performance site outlines the different electric directions that Porsche is heading in, while making it clear that being first in electric is a top priority. But don’t worry, Porsche is still in the business of making high-performance sports cars. So when it comes to “environment versus performance, both win.”

As electrifying as E-Performance sounds, the real question is: are you sold?
