Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo Spied Looking Production Ready
Virtually zero camouflage covers the flanks of this Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo, which means that it’s also very much real.
We’re getting closer and closer to the on-sale date of the very first all-electric Porsche in history, the Taycan. In the meantime, Porsche has made it clear that they intend to offer the EV sedan in at least one other body style, a move hinted at with the Cross Turismo Concept. But now, it appears that they’ve also got something a little more conventional in the works. Behold, the very first look at a very production-ready Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo.
The wagon version of the regular Taycan makes too much sense not to exist, given the success of the Panamera Sport Turismo. But it is still surprising that Porsche didn’t bother to use much camo to disguise this test mule. Perhaps it’s because we’ve already essentially seen what the body looks like when the Cross Turismo Concept bowed at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. Or perhaps they didn’t expect anyone to notice.
Regardless, the overall design of the Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo is quite different from its high-riding brother. The plastic “fender flares” are obviously gone, and the overall look is much more Taycan Concept than Mission E. It looks like a proper stablemate to the Panamera “wagon,” if not a little more “wagon-like.”
This mule also carries the same fake (and generally hated) exhaust tips seen on previous Mission E/Taycan prototypes. Whether or not those make it to production is anybody’s guess.
The biggest notable difference between this mule and previous examples is the charging port location. On this example, you can clearly see it on the driver’s side. On the previous sedan we spied testing, it was on the passenger side.
Porsche should have those little details sorted out soon. Because it’s clear from this and other recent developments that the ground-breaking production Taycan isn’t too far off!
