Porsche Celebrates Rennsport Reunion VI with New Timepiece

By -

The largest annual gathering of Porsche race cars and drivers deserves (and receives) its own special, limited edition timepiece.

The Rennsport Reunion is a must-see event for any devoted Porsche fan. And this year’s gathering, taking place at the infamous Laguna Seca raceway, promises to be the best showing yet. Despite its relative newness, the event has already become the world’s largest gathering of Porsche race cars and drivers, both vintage and modern. And this year, Porsche is celebrating the historic event with an equally significant new timepiece – the Chronotimer Rennsport Reunion VI Limited Edition.

Designed specifically for the event, this watch represents the third Rennsport Reunion piece from Porsche Design. Each of the previous two special edition pieces sold out immediately, and 2018’s edition promises to follow suit. Only 70 of these beautiful watches have been produced. Which makes them both very exclusive and a fitting tribute to Porsche’s 70th anniversary of building sports cars.

Rennsport Reunion

To celebrate both the past and the present, the Porsche Design Rennsport Reunion VI Limited Edition is both traditional and modern in its construction.  Porsche designed the Chronotimer to look like the original Chronograph, which brought matte black instrumentation to Porsche racers. To accentuate it, a titanium case with black titanium-carbide coating surrounds the dial.

The incredible detailing continues with red and white markers reminiscent of a racetrack’s safety sideline. The Rennsport Reunion VI logo is present, as is an engraving and individual production number. With a black leather strap made from an actual Porsche interior, this timepiece is sure to spark conversation.

Preorders for the Rennsport Reunion VI Limited Edition have already started at Porsche Design’s site. The timepiece retails for $6,850 (RRP) and is available in the United States at Rennsport Reunion VI in September 2018.
