Porsche (yes, a Porsche) makes a perfect rig for road tripping and camping with slick rooftop tent set-up. 

When we came across the Instagram account of Brock Keen aka 996 Road Trip we thought “Whaaaat?” 996 Road Trip documents the adventures of his Porsche 996 as a road tripping car. Among his adventures you’ll see Keen camping, mudding, and traveling extensively in his trusty Porsche. Think a Porsche 996 can’t make a solid road warrior? Think again.

Keen has outfitted his 996 with a Sky Rise Tent from Yakima Racks. Writes Keen, “It sleeps me, my wife, our 50 pound pup, no problem…and it’s off the ground/dirt.”

Taking a Porsche off-road and sleeping under the stars? It is the best of both worlds. Plus, it is without a doubt the sexiest camping set-up we’ve ever seen.

And it is effective! Keen has posted images of his sleek Porsche from all across the country.

Artist Matthew Hoss made Keen a custom illustration of his unusual flat-six camper.

996 Road Trip definitely shows that with the right gear, a Porsche can be an impressive road tripper with few limitations.
