Watch Porsche’s 919 Le Mans Racer Terrorize London Streets!

Even if you’ve never been to London, it doesn’t take more than watching a few Hollywood action movies to realize that its streets are narrow, crowded, and feature lots of black cabbies and red double-decker buses. This time though, there’s something more interesting.

Porsche took to the streets of London in the U.K. to promote the launch of their new Panamera E-Hybrid sedan, which utilizes similar hybrid engine technology as the 900 horsepower 24 Hours of Le Mans race car that ex-Formula One driver, Mark Webber pilots. The E-Hybrid sedan produces a more civilized 455 horsepower, which I can imagine would be more than plenty on most of the world’s congested roads.

Mark Webber drove his 919 on a four mile loop through most of London’s famous sights, such as Westminster Bridge, Buckingham Palace and others. Funny enough, due to the speed limit he had to adhere to, both Mark and the car were quickly overheating. Remember that these race cars don’t have cooling systems, as they rely on their insane top speeds to force-induce air into the radiators.

This awesome video by, Horsepower Hunters, will show you what such a crazy moment that was!

What would you do if you saw a race car next to you at a stop sign?
