Porsche Launches 2019 Macan S with Turbocharged V6

Porsche adds a powerful boost to the refreshed Macan with a 348 horsepower powerplant.

Porsche is ringing in 2019 with a bang. The 2019 Porsche Macan S was just unveiled with a turbocharged V6 engine. This updated and refreshed Macan will be definitely be a force to reckon with in the compact SUV segment.

The 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 is the same used in the Panamera, Cayenne, and Cayenne E-Hybrid models. This V6 is a more responsive engine with a lot of oomph.

The turbocharged engine marks an increase in horsepower and torque from the previous 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with an impressive 348 horsepower and 354 lb.-ft of torque. It goes zero to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds (or 4.9 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono package), and hits top speeds of 157 mph.

All that and it looks great…of course. The chassis is refreshed and streamlined. It looks sportier and drives with more precision and responsiveness.

Like the 2019 Macan, the Macan S has a continuous LED light bar at the rear, and LED headlights come standard.

On-board technology includes the new Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system with a 10.9-inch touchscreen. The PCM system comes standard, and includes online navigation with real-time traffic information through HERE Cloud, two audio interfaces, a mobile phone connection, and intelligent voice control. Other standard features includes are Porsche Connect Plus, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a range of new Porsche Connect services.

Porsche has also enhanced the brakes, resulting in improved brake responsiveness. The new Macan S also has larger front brake discs, new rotors. and copper-free brake pads. Options include Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB).

Other cool upgrades include a heated windshield, an optional ionizer for improved air quality, and optional GT Sport steering wheel. The Sport Chrono Package offers a mode switch integrated into the steering wheel, including Sport Response button.
