Porsche 24 Hours of Le Mans

You can win up to $500 in Motul products starting now and ending once the green flag drops at Le Mans on June 15.

We’re roughly a week away from the oldest and most prestigious endurance race in the automotive world: the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It’s a truly special time for motorsports fans, particularly those who favor Porsche and its legendary winning ways. Thus, makers of extraordinary lubricants, Motul, wanted to do something extra special to mark the occasion. So, they’re giving away up to $500 in Motul products to one lucky Rennlist member.

The contest runs until the green flag drops on June 15 at 9 a.m. EST. All you have to do to qualify for the giveaway is head over here and drop your best guess at the number of laps completed by the overall winner, without going over. If there are any ties, correct responses will be entered into a pool with the winner selected at random. The first-place winner scores a $500 credit for Motul products, while the runner-up gets $250. The contest is open to U.S. and Canadian Rennlist users only. (Sign up for free here!)

This is a great opportunity for our community to score some excellent products. Motul already has a reputation for producing the very best lubricants in the biz, which is why they’re the Official Lubricant Partner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Not to mention the 24H Motos and the FIA World Endurance Championship. Motul 300V 5W30 is the oil recommended for every car in the LMP2 Class. And it’s the choice for Gibson’s racing engine in that series.

Plus, motor oil isn’t where the relationship between Gibson and Motul begins and ends, either. Their factory machines run Motul coolant as well.  Pretty much everything there uses some sort of Motul product, even the cleaning and maintenance machines.

“The biggest advantage about working with Motul is that instead of buying off-the-shelf engine oils, we now have access to a laboratory and engineers who can help us in developing and making bespoke products for our needs,” explains Gibson Technology’s technical director, Ian Lovett. “That is the biggest plus for our company.”

And after logging over 7,500 hours and 778,000 miles on 284 engines, Lovett adds: “We don’t really get any engine failures.” Certainly sounds like a testament to both, Gibson’s attention to detail and selection of lubricants.
