Molto Bella: Exploring Sicily in Porsche 718 GTS

By -

Porsche inspires wanderlust with stunning Italian road trip.

Last November, Porsche asked four strangers to travel throughout Sicily, Italy for five days in a 718 Porsche GTS. The adventurers were asked to explore with abandon, to truly get the full Porsche experience. The lucky travelers documented their experiences on social media using the hashtag #GTSroadtrip, and Porsche was there for a ride of a lifetime.

Porsche released this video as look back at the experience. The video is gorgeous, and captures the thrill of the trip, the beautiful destinations, and the pleasure of the ride itself.

Some of the destinations were Mount Etna–Europe’s highest active volcano, Targo Florio–the oldest sports car racing event, the coastal town of Taormina, the coastal medieval town of Cefalu, and so much more.

The drivers got to drive the 718 GTS on narrow cobblestone roads, really open the cars up on country roads, take on twisty mountain roads complete with hairpin turns, and race the Porsches on a private airstrip in Eremo della Giubiliana. We doubt it gets much better than traveling Sicily in a sexy Porsche Boxster.

One of the lucky four was Luke Penn from the popular YouTube channel Cars with Luke. He shared his adventures on his channel, and his videos are definitely worth checking out.

With this project, Porsche hopes to spark the spirit of adventure. The video certainly succeeds in doing that. For more information about #GTSRoadTrip, visit Porsche online.

Mamma mia, we’re ready to take off today.
