Modified-Porsche Owners Have Better Taste than Modified-Lexus Owners

White & blue Lexus may be the perfect example of bad taste with great execution.

Let’s start by saying we don’t want to get into the discussion about whether modifying luxury and performance cars is acceptable or not. We have all seen modifications that border on terrifying, and then things like the Safari 911s exist, and there are very few out there who hate those things. So, instead of all that angry discussion, let’s focus on the simple idea of taste and style.

In general, when you see a modified Porsche, the changes are made in a way that enhances the look, lines, or performance of the machine. And we want to say thank you to our community for that. Thank you, for not giving us unbelievably ugly and tasteless creations like this Lexus we found on Reddit.

In general, a lot of overt two-tone paint jobs don’t look that great, but this thing takes the cake. Nearly everything about how this design was created is just done wrong. Blue and white work well together when one is an accent color and the colors really contrast each other. But, somehow this car uses a blue that is too bright, a white that appears to be more of a dingy silver, and the near 50/50 split of those two just makes it look like the entire thing was designed by a color blind infant. Plus, the slightly purple window tint and filthy gray wheels really add to the vomit-factor.

Now, we will give praise where it’s due. The design is hideous, but the execution is excellent. The blue appears to be a nice metallic paint, the lines are crisp, and the way the various colors flow perfectly with the body lines is professionally done. However, this means that either someone is really good with their garage paint gun, or they actually paid someone to defile this car.

What do you guys think? Are we just venting our bottled up road rage from holiday traffic onto some poor schmuck on Reddit, or did this car make your eyes bleed too?
