Gil Dezer Takes Porsche Love to New Heights

Dezer Porche

You’re going to want to watch the CNBC video below, which dives inside the life of Miami’s hottest skyscraper developer and Porsche collector, Gil Dezer. The highlight is his small, desirable, personal Porsche collection, but stick around for the privately-owned movie car museum and his current project — building the first residential Porsche Design Tower in the U.S.

The video starts off in Dezer’s personal Porsche garage, where the reporter unfortunately wasn’t hip enough to key us in on all seven silver sharks. But CNBC does at least cover a couple. The first is a lightly customized 991 Turbo S Cabriolet. Then Dezer shows off his Carrera GT, which looks like is his favorite, judging from all the B-roll in the intro. Not mentioned, but shown in panning shots, are a front-engine 928 S4, 356 Speedster Cabriolet, and what looks like a Panamera.

Nice diversity of old, new, front-engine, rear-engine, and mid-engine. Smart fella, spreading his love for Porsche through all years and models. The other rigs in his personal daily garage aren’t bad either: a couple of Rolls Royces, a Lamborghini Murci, and the rarest and most expensive of the bunch, a Bugatti Veyron.

When the crew wraps at the daily-driven garage, they head over to Dezer’s personally-owned massive movie car museum, filled with over 1200 movie cars and a special Bond section. Actually it is the largest collection of movie-used 007 vehicles in the world. Dever points out the collection’s most prized vehicles, like the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car, Ghostbusters’ Ecto 1 Cadillac hearse, and the Mach 1 from Speed Racer. This is a most definite stop when I fly to Florida, along with BT Barnum’s Museum in Sarasota. (I love a good side show!)

Gil Dezer isn’t just a developer of mega skyscrapers, he is also a visionary of new lifestyles and luxury. He is the first American to partner with Porsche Design to build a residential skyscraper. There is one in Germany, but not like this. The most exclusive feature, which you can’t find in most other residential skyscrapers, has to be the car elevator. This elevator allows a seamless drive into the building, only to be lifted up to your residence. Safe, secure, serene. Just you and your Porsche.
