Modified for the legendary rock god by RUF Automobile, this 993 is rockin’ some raw power.

Eddie Van Halen has been tearing it up onstage for decades as one of the greatest guitarists, well, ever. When the genius ax man, songwriter, and founder of Van Halen isn’t scorching with his Frankenstrat guitar, he is known to be scorching pavements. His weapon of choice? Porsche. Hey, if you’ve got the means, there is no better choice.

He currently owns a Porsche 911 GT3 RS, which he loves to take drifting. But as he upgrades his collection, he needs to clear out his garage. To that end, Van Halen is currently selling his 1996 993 Porsche 911 Turbo. We came across this cherry Porsche for sale in Van Nuys, California, on Bring a Trailer.

The 993 is in mint condition, and the interior features black leather with an exterior finished in Arena Red. Perfect for a rock star of his caliber.

As Van Halen knows what he likes in a Porsche, he had this chariot custom modified by RUF Automobiles. RUF installed custom camshafts, turbochargers, an exhaust system, and an EKS computer. RUF modded the powerplant, and it now boasts a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six, mated to a six-speed manual transaxle and all-wheel drive. This gave the Porsche a boost (okay, we wanted to say jump) in power, and it now runs a savage 480 horsepower.

We must say that we are pretty surprised that the car only has 21K on the odometer! If we had a car like this, we’d definitely put some serious hurt on the ticker. We’d also have a hard time getting anywhere on time because the ride would be so badass. But when we’d show up late, we could always say “I don’t feel tardy.”

Inside, Van Halen added custom seats in black leather. The Dark Rootwood trim looks appropriately sleek. Other extras are an electric sunroof, rear window washer, leather-covered components and instrument rings, stainless steel door sills, CD player with storage, 18″ turbo twist wheels with Bridgestone Potenza tires.

So if you want to live like a rock star, or drive the Porsche of one, this is definitely a flat-six dream come true. The price is currently just under $120,000, and you can check it out (or place your bid) on the website.
