Dutch Treat: “Share a Porsche” in the Netherlands

I’m guessing that for many of you here on Rennlist, the concept of sharing your beloved Porsche with anyone is a terrible idea, including your spouse. But for the rest of us, who can’t exactly find our way into the car of our dreams, this is a viable option. Now all we have to do is move to the Netherlands and make some trustworthy friends.

Porsche is rethinking their traditional business model with an innovative new program aptly called “Share a Porsche.” It allows up to four people to split a lease on a once-new Porsche.

According to Road & Track:

“Included in the monthly cost is everything except fuel, meaning insurance, maintenance, and tax are all covered in the monthly payment. The lease runs for either 12 or 24 months, and there’s an app for iOS and Android that helps you and your buds coordinate who gets the car when and for how long.”

At this point no certified pre-owned 918s are available, but you can hold stock in a new old Boxster, Cayman, or 911. There’s even a few turbo Carreras, and at least one 911 Turbo S.

One of the major drawbacks of the program, as you fine folks know, is that when you have easy access to driving a Porsche, that’s pretty much all you want to do. Imagine four people craving such desire. Yeah, I foresee a lot of friendships breaking up over this one.
