This Is the Most “Custom” 914 You’ll Ever See

Some people have a vision. It might be different your yours or mine, but it is a vision none the less. I’ll give credit that the exterior of this custom 914 seems to be fairly well executed, in terms of quality. In terms of how the overall shape has taken place, there are elements of Chrysler, Testarossa, and Porsche 959 in the styling. The inside is custom made as well, with the whole interior ditched in favor of a dash from a BMW E30. You won’t get many creature comforts though, as the radio and HVAC systems have been ditched.

A V8 has sprouted in the engine bay, replacing the old flat-four. It’s described as a 350 making 375 horsepower, though any other details are sparse, if not completely missing altogether. The only other bit of drivetrain info available from Hemmings is that the V8 is mated to a 5-speed transmission. In theory it should be quick, so maybe that can make up for other shortcomings. Aside from the engine, other upgrades include the front suspension, which has been lifted from a 911.

Whatever it is, it’ll be up for auction soon at Auctions America: 2016 The Hilton Head Island Collector Car Auction. How much will it fetch? Start your bets now.
