Cayenne Turbo Offroad

Porsche Cayenne Turbo proves it’s useful for more than looking good by taking on mud, deep water, and tight trails.

Let’s be honest. There aren’t a lot of Cayenne Turbo owners taking them off the pavement. However, when they do venture off into the wilderness, you’ll find that they are a lot more capable than you might expect. Porsche’s AWD traction management is top tier in terms of understanding terrain. Additionally, you certainly have all the horsepower and torque you need for tough situations.

Reddit user HighThe set out to prove this on a recent offroading adventure and brought along a friend with a Toyota 4runner. While he typically keeps this car on the road, he quickly adapts to the feeling of being on the path less traveled.

Muddy Cayenne Turbo

“When going first on the trail, it was bumpy, and since I am used to being on the street with the Cayenne, it felt rather out of place. As I descended down the first narrow trail, barely avoiding the trees on my left and right, I gain a sense of confidence in the car. I can feel all the mechanical parts working, and the car feels like it has such a great understanding of the terrain that it is on. The air suspension works exceptionally well, and having the ability to lift the car to it’s highest mode does help,” he wrote.

He mentions that 4Runner struggled to keep up with him throughout the adventure. However, he credits that to the Toyota driver being less “daring.” There are many ways to describe taking such a pricey vehicle offroad. Daring is undoubtedly one of them!

Our favorite moment comes toward the end of his post when he pulls 4Runner out of a mud pit. He notes that the all-terrain tires didn’t even spin on the grass when rescuing the stranded Toyota.

Overall, the Cayenne Turbo definitely holds it’s own offroad. With older models dropping below $10,000, the Cayenne Turbo makes an excellent option for an offroad toy to add to the collection. It’s certainly got a better cool-factor than an old Toyota!
