2018 Porsche 911 GTS R2 Tears Up the Nurburgring

By -

Porsche enthusiasts are dying to know how the new GTS R2 stacks up against other supercars.

To say the 2018 Porsche 911 GTS R2 is a highly anticipated vehicle is an understatement. Ever since its announcement earlier this year, Porsche enthusiasts have been impatiently waiting for any new information and video of the fastest 911 to ever exist. Lucky for us, a video has emerged of the 2018 GTS R2 in action on the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

The video is very basic, but it definitely gets the point across that this new Porsche is the beast that everyone has been thinking it would be. While we only get to see the car race around a small portion of the track, it’s clear that the hype around the vehicle is justified. The 700 horsepower engine, with 553 pound-feet of torque at its disposal, blisters through the turns with ease. And as we already know from pictures, the GTS R2 looks amazing doing it.

Of course, this type of performance on the track is to be expected from a car with a 0-60 speed of about 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph. Sadly, we don’t know any of the true stats from these laps on the track yet. Hopefully, we can get word on some of the lap times to properly compare it to the other supercars that have taken to the Nurburgring. While Porsche is quick to say that this is the fastest street-legal 911 ever, Porsche fans love to hear how they stack up against the likes of Lamborghini and other cars of that class.

Unfortunately, fans won’t get a chance to get their hands on the 2018 Porsche 911 GTS R2 until next year when it’s released. Of course, that is if you have a spare $300,000 laying around.
