If you’re the type of person who just can’t get enough of the new Panamera, then Porsche is speaking your language.

Say hello to the fourth model in the Panamera line, the 2017 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid. Well, actually, don’t say hello just yet, as the new car is officially slated to debut at the Paris Motor Show at the end of the month. And you actually should probably say “bonjour.”

However you’re saying it, this hybrid will definitely speak the language of speed. With 462 horsepower and 516 pounds-feet of torque available as soon as you touch the pedal, this green machine will help you fetch the groceries in no time at all. Porsche accounts for that number by combining a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 cranking out 330 hp/331 lb-ft with a 136-hp/295 lb-ft electric motor. An eight-speed PDK transmission properly distributes that power to all four wheels. All of which should get you from zero to 60 in about 4.6 seconds.

So in that regard, this isn’t your grandma’s hybrid. But with an electric range of 31 miles, your carbon conscious should remain unfettered.

But what’s perhaps most alluring about the 2017 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid is its versatility. The car will always start in “E-Power” mode, but can be switched into “Hybrid Auto,” which automatically chooses which engine to pull from, in order to achieve the greatest efficiency. You can also select “E-Charge” mode, so that the V6 will charge the battery as you roll. Or you can go for straight performance in the “Sport” and “Sport Plus” modes.

The 2017 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid will first be made available in Europe in mid-April, and will be subsequently rolled out to other continents shortly thereafter.
