Have you ever thought about owning a Porsche, and wondered what would be a good first model?

According to Matt Farah of The Smoking Tire, a 997 Carrera S with only a handful of miles could be a fair bet to provide you with much joy for years to come. If you are in the market for a vehicle suitable for commuting during the week and canyon carving on the weekend, the Porsche 997 delivers.

The 997 in the video below is owned by Drew. He sits shotgun for the ride up to Mount Wilson on Southern California Angeles Crest Highway, as he and Farah talk details about this bone-stock 2006 Porsche 997 Carrera S.

Pumping out 355 hp from its 3.8L six-cylinder Boxer engine, this 10-year-old coupe will get you to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds, and do it in moderate, comfortable, and basic luxury. Most importantly, the 997 offers nice tight turning, and overall handling is fantastic, as mentioned by Farah.

Seems like a great  first Porsche indeed. But what was the first Porsche you ever bought? We want to know in the comments below.
