Some people believe cars are meant to be driven, and in the case of Porsches, driven hard. Then, there’s another group of people that believe in admiring certain vehicles as glorious works of art, keeping them in moisture and temperature controlled garages, and caressing them with chinchilla mittens.

The gorgeous 2005 Porsche Carrera GT pictured here has only traveled 152 miles in its 11 years of life, so can you figure out which kind of owner it belongs to? It’s not that hard. Thankfully this garage queen is set to be auctioned off at the Mecum Monterey auction later this month, and I can only hope an actual enthusiast gets his hands on it and shows it some road love.

The 5.7 liter V10 engine mounted behind the seats produces an astonishing 605 horsepower, and unlike most Porsches nowadays, it’s paired to an old-school 6-speed manual transmission. The result of such a magical combination is 0-60 mph in little over three seconds, and a top speed rated by Porsche at 205 mph. In fact, it’s Porsche’s last ever use of a V10 engine, and also considered one of the best sounding motors of its generation. Pure. German. Thunder.

Unlike the Ferrari Enzo and Mercedes McLaren SLR this Porsche had to compete with back in the day, there were a total of 604 units imported to the United States, which is nearly twice as many Enzos produced globally. That supposedly makes the Carrera GT less “desirable.” Another issue with this particular model is its color, as most Porsche Purists will pay bigger bucks for a proper silver than any other hue.

Monterey Price estimate? Between $1 million and $1.4 million. Interested?
