Built for Mr. Le Mans

In order to make an impact in the increasingly saturated world of restomod Porsches, builders need to bring something extraordinary to the table. And Danish company, Kalmar has set out to reach that level of extraordinary with their 964-based creation. Built for 'Mr. LeMans' Tom Kristensen, the Kalmar 7-97 pays homage to the Danish racing driver's first LeMans win in 1997.

Perfect Combo

Backed by automotive specialist Jon Kalmar, gentleman driver and entrepreneur Lars Erik Nielsen, and the 9-time Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen himself, the company's approach to building the restomod Porsche is thoroughly meticulous. For many, Kalmar's formula will be considered the best of all worlds.

Timeless

The 7-97 combines the perfect underpinnings of the 964 and 993 generations with the timeless looks of early 911s and modernized mechanics for improved reliability. The last of the air-cooled Porsches are most Porsche enthusiasts' favorites because of the lightweight chassis and engaging driving experience. The original 911's iconic styling is irresistible. And Kalmar achieves an analog feel with their restomod without compromising daily driving reliability and power.

Customizability

The great thing about the work of Kalmar Automotive is the fact that they allow for extensive customizability for their clients. When it comes to the design of the cabin, customers can choose between a variety of combinations for the seats, the upholstery, and the steering wheel.

Craftsmanship

Kalmar Automotive prides itself on building a car that meets the strict needs of the legendary Tom Kristensen. Serving as a tribute to his first win at the famous 24-race with car number 7, the first-ever 7-97 was built on a 1990 Porsche 911, and the beautiful lines of a 1967 Porsche 911 grace the restomod's exterior. 1967 is also Kristensen's birth year, which is probably not a coincidence!

Unique Restomod

The level of craftsmanship here is worthy of applause, even by Mr. LeMans' standards. Completing a build that earns Kristensen's approval in terms of quality and driving feel took three whole years. The end result is nothing short of impressive. And perhaps the most unique feature employed by Kalmar is the modular chrome grille that also acts as an active rear wing!
