Singer’s New 930 Turbo Lineup

Helping celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original Porsche 911 Turbo, Singer is doing more than just reimagining the classic 930 Turbo Coupe. The company, renowned for its meticulous restomods, is introducing a series of models, including Targa, Cabriolet, and Slantnose Coupe variants. These models aren't just a throwback; they represent a blend of heritage and modern performance, each built on a 964 chassis and retaining the distinct essence of the original 911 Turbo. The launch also marks Singer's most ambitious restoration effort, with just 70 standard Coupes planned and a mere 25 Slantnose models, all of which are already spoken for.

Performance Enhancements

Under the hood, each of Singer’s 930 Turbo restorations boasts a powerful evolution of the original Mezger flat-six engine. The air-cooled, 3.8-liter engine has been upgraded with twin turbochargers borrowed from the 992-generation Porsche, pushing the power output to an impressive 510 horsepower. Despite initial discussions of offering both rear- and all-wheel drive options, it appears that only rear-wheel drive will be available. This powertrain, combined with a six-speed manual transmission, offers a driving experience that remains true to the car's original spirit while incorporating modern advancements in engine technology.

Attention to Detail

The bodies are crafted using carbon fiber panels, which maintain the classic lines and proportions of the original model. Each car features flared front and rear wheel arches, distinctive black accents below the doors, and large side air intakes positioned just in front of the rear wheels. The cars also come equipped with custom whale-tail spoilers, with the Slantnose Coupe variant sporting a slightly more aggressive rear wing design. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires are standard across the lineup, ensuring that these masterpieces not only look the part but also perform admirably on the road.

Customizable Driving Experience

Customization has always been at the heart of Singer's offerings, and the 930 Turbo restorations are no exception. Owners have the opportunity to tailor their vehicles to their specific driving preferences. Whether the desire is for a sports-focused setup or a grand tourer feel, Singer provides the flexibility to create a truly personalized driving experience. The cars also feature modern safety aids like electronic stability control and traction control to manage the considerable power under the hood. Additionally, all Turbo Classic variants are fitted with carbon ceramic brakes and a lowered sports suspension, enhancing both performance and driving comfort.

An Iconic Revival

The unveiling of Singer’s new 930 Turbo lineup not only honors the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 Turbo but also reaffirms Singer's reputation as a leader in the art of automotive restoration. The cabin, which balances classic elements like tartan and leather with modern conveniences such as wireless charging, reflects their dedication to detail. As Rob Dickinson, Singer's founder, noted, “The 911 Turbo was launched fifty years ago. Since then it has been a poster child, autobahn hero, and race winner, loved by drivers and enthusiasts around the world.” With these new models, Singer not only celebrates the past but also redefines the future of the 911 Turbo.
