Many celebrities have the luxury of being able to add a Porsche or two (or 47 like Jerry Seinfeld) to their car collections. Here are nine celebrities who have done just that.
1. Jerry Seinfeld
Starting things off with a bang, comedian Jerry Seinfeld has collected a staggering amount of Porsches, 47 to be exact. He put 15 of them up for auction this year, claiming he didn’t have the time or space to take care of all of them properly. His collection included a 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder ($5,355,000), a 1959 Porsche 718 RSK ($2,860,000), and a 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster ($363,000) to name a few. 2. Keanu Reeves
Actor Keanu Reeves’ first Porsche was a black 911 Carrera 4S (993) with a manual transmission that was unfortunately stolen while he was away filming a movie. This inspired him to reach out to Porsche’s customer consultation center and customize what would be his next Porsche, the 911 Carrera 4S (991). His love of Porsche began at a young age when he was given Porsche Matchbox toys and saw his grandmother’s boyfriend driving a 911 Targa.
3. Ellen DeGeneres
Comedian, actress, and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres owns a bevy of Porsches, including a black Porsche 911 Targa 4S, a silver Porsche 993, and a black Porsche Cayenne. She loves them so much, she even married actress Portia de Rossi. Close enough!
4. Jason Statham
Action film star Jason Statham does all of his own stunts in movies, so it’s no wonder he loves to indulge his adventurous side by racing his very own Porsche 911 GT2 at the track. Whether on or off the screen, it’s safe to say Statham knows what he’s doing behind the wheel of a sports car.
5. LeBron James
It’s no surprise that one of the world’s best basketball players, LeBron James, owns a Porsche 911 Turbo S that he purchased in 2012. From the looks of his Instagram, he loves to drive his 911 on road trips with his buddies who also own Porsches. He also bought his mother a white Porsche Panamera for her birthday in 2014.
6. Hilary Duff
Actress/singer Hilary Duff has enjoyed a long career since she was a tween, making her one of the few child stars to not derail her success and reputation in the process. She rewarded herself with a white Porsche Panamera in 2012, and more recently this black Porsche 991 Carrera S in 2013.
7. Ken Griffey, Jr.
Former professional baseball player with the Seattle Mariners, Cincinnati Reds, and Chicago White Sox, Ken Griffey, Jr. is now a consultant for the Mariners, which means he has much more time to enjoy his Porsche Carrera GT. He’s also a co-owner of a Porsche dealership, Porsche of Hilton Head in South Carolina. Griffey, Jr. was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame earlier this year. Clearly, things have only gotten better since his retirement just a few years ago.
8. Miley Cyrus
Actress/singer Miley Cyrus loves driving her Porsche Cayenne GTS around L.A. She bought it in 2012—impressive for a 19-year-old at the time. It’s no wonder she chose it as her own, having learned how to drive in her mom’s older Cayenne.
9. Patrick Dempsey
Actor Patrick Dempsey’s first car was a 1963 Porsche 356 that he purchased in 1987 and still drives to this day. Similar to Keanu Reeves, Dempsey fell in love with cars at a young age and mostly owns many Porsches. His daily driver is a 911 Targa GTS which he praises for its retro styling. If money were no object, he dreams of owning a Porsche 917 and a 911 from each decade. Aside from being an actor, his true passion lies in being a race car driver. He’s competed in several events driving a Porsche 911 RSR as well as a Porsche 997 GT3 RSR and has his own racing team.
