1. False Claim

Last week, a man and his wife were caught making a false insurance claim on a 1955 Porsche 356 Speedster. The couple forged a VIN number and filed fake paperwork, claiming the vintage convertible was stolen during a trip. But police work revealed that not only had this not happened, they hadn't even owned the Porsche to begin with. They attempted to defraud Farmer's insurance for $250,000, but now they face up to five years in jail if convicted.

2. Gas Station Assault

A few months ago in Miami, a woman was simply minding her own business while sitting in a Porsche convertible, waiting for a friend inside a gas station, when a man forcibly stole her purse after punching her in the arm. The victim exclaimed she thought it was her friend playing a joke on her. Gas station cameras captured the entire assault, the video of which you can watch here

3. Porsche-driving Gang Caught

Sure, Porsches make excellent getaway cars in assassin and secret agent movies, but for a gang in Palo Alto, perhaps they should've chosen a less flashy vehicle. In September, several members of a gang were arrested for over 200 burglary cases in the Bay Area of California. The members drove Porsches and other high-end luxury cars to commit the crimes, a pattern that police recognized and used to their advantage when searching for the suspects.

4. Roof Slicer

This one stings a little bit. Security cameras recorded footage of a man slicing open a Porsche 911's fabric convertible roof. He then jumps inside, steals what he can, and jumps out and down, bouncing off of the spoiler. Bonus points if you can spot what model this Porsche is.

5. Masked Robbers

Back in the summer of 2015, four masked men in East London pulled up to a house in a black Porsche convertible and proceeded to break the door down to gain entry. One of the robbers attempted to smash the security camera, which caught most of the incident on tape. They made out with two expensive watches, and fortunately, the people inside the house weren't seriously harmed.

6. Up in Flames

With the vast amount of surveillance cameras littering the streets of London, it's safe to say that if you commit a crime in plain sight, it's going to be recorded. This camera captured the moment when a man doused a Porsche convertible in gasoline, then set it on fire before fleeing the scene. Two men were involved in the act of arson, which caused over $10,000 of damage to the Porsche.

7. Sticky Situation

A couple in the UK were dumbfounded when police showed up to their house attempting to seize their new Porsche Cayenne 4.8 Turbo, claiming they had stolen it. The couple had legally purchased the Porsche from a garage, which is now under investigation for fraud. Their beloved Cayenne, which they'd purchased to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary, was confiscated anyway. To add insult to injury, the police trotted all over the couple's freshly poured concrete driveway, which had to be redone entirely.
