10 Most Expensive Porsches Sold on Ebay in the Last 90 Days

New Porsches are expensive from the factory, but the used market for nicely preserved used and classics seems to be going up with no downturn in sight. Let's look back at some recent eBay sales and see just how high the values have gotten.

2015 Porsche Panamera GTS Widebody Show Car - $109,800
2014 Porsche 911 50th Anniversary Edition - $108,800

1. 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RS - $177,500

This 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RS is not even ten years old, but already seems to be attaining classic status. According to the seller, it originally stickered for a little over $150k, and you will get a certificate of authenticity to that fact, yet sold last month for over $175k by a Las Vegas seller. Chances are these cars are only going to keep going up, unless you think that premium was for the Porsche optional color matched roll cage, and aftermarket exhaust? Less than 1,200 of these cars were made and sold worldwide, with just a handful more than 400 coming to the US.

2. 2015 Porsche 911 Turbo S - $159,999

This clean, black, 2015 Turbo S had less than 2,500 miles put on it in the year the original owner had it. Hopefully for their sake some of those were track day miles, because just based on the original sticker and the eBay sale, each mile cost them $13 in depreciation, not including gas, insurance, and other stuff. As the buyer, you hope those miles were being driven by a middle aged trophy wife to and from the country club, because you certainly saved a good deal buy buying this year old San Diego Turbo S used in November.

3. 2015 Porsche 911 GT3 - $155,980

Every 911 GT3 is a serious, and seriously expensive car, so without the exact options or the original sticker, it is hard to say if this was well bought or not, but chances are it was. This 2015 911 GT3 is another car with little more than 2,000 miles on it after a year, the buyer got a practically new Porsche for what is likely a substantial savings. Looking at eBay, it really seems to pay to buy your 911 used instead of new.

4. 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S Convertible - $154,000?

According to the seller of this car, a dealer in the Chicago area, it originally stickered for more than $204k, and according to eBay it sold in November for less than $154k. This super clean, barely used, 2014 911 Turbo S Convertible has only 1,700 miles on it, and from the look of it most of those were going from the garage to the detailer. Porsche 911s are a joy to look at, sure, but owning one for 2 years and driving just 75 miles a month doesn't really equal much enjoyment. Who are these people buying these usable supercars and then not driving them?

5. 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo - $145,100

I'll admit, I skipped over a few other late model cars that were not that different than the last thee to get to this 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo. Of course, this 993 is one of the last of the air cooled classics, and also one of the fastest. With over 30k miles on it, and 20 years, this car is still looking amazingly new, with just the driver seat showing any sign of wear. The AWD system on this goes great with all the power, and the rain and leaves you are likely to encounter in New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey, where the seller is located. With 17 bids placed, you can trust the selling price is market value for a classic air cooled car this clean.

6. 1959 Porsche 356A Outlaw - $129,000

There was a time 20 years ago when Porsche 356 like this one were selling for just used car prices, less than you could buy a new BMW 3 series for. Is this one particularly nice? Or is it the combination of original early car, with tasteful and reversible updates that make it even more fun to drive? It could also be because the seller, Classic Porsche Restoration, has been restoring and selling these cars for 40 years. The outlaw term here refers to the upgraded and non-factory original nature of this car, what with its later 912 engine and transmission, upgraded brakes and suspension, and more modern wheel and tire sizes.

7. 2015 Porsche Panamera GTS Widebody Show Car - $109,800

Are you tired of losing your Panamera GTS in the parking lot after the peewee soccer matches? How about this custom widebody 2015 Panamera GTS, as displayed at the SEMA show in Las Vegas last year? If you click over to the ad, and look at all that went into the build ($70k in parts alone), the sale price seems like a bargain. A new Panamera GTS was over $110k in 2015. This auction is a perfect example of losing money by improving a car. At least you certainly won't be seeing another one like it, no matter where you drive it.

8. 2014 Porsche 911 50th Anniversary Edition - $108,800

The 2014 50th Anniversary Edition of the Porsche 911 was limited to just 1963 cars, which makes it fairly rare, but this one sold for a substantial discount from the $124k sticker price a few years ago. What did you get with the limited edition package? Besides the badgeing and seat embroidery, you go throw back hounds tooth upholstery, the Carrera 4 wide body, retro style 5 spoke wheels, unique colors, chrome trim, plus the Sport Chrono package and Powerkit. Perhaps the bargain price for this rare car is because of the nearly 40k miles on the odometer? Obviously this was a well loved and driven car.

9. 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 - $107,100

Perhaps this is a good example of the difference between a low mile car and a well loved one? Or perhaps the extra $70k our #1 car sold for was due to just the fact that it is the rare RS version? The 2011 911 GT3 originally listed for about $150k, so this eBay example seems like a bargain at this price, even with 24k miles driven with it. According to Wikipedia, there are less than 100 of these 997.2 GT3 cars in the USA, so the value probably won't go down any more from here.

10. 1987 Porsche 911 Targa - $110,000?

You may have though you couldn't buy new air cooled Porsches, but this 1987 911 Targa might as well be new, with just 7,200 miles in 30 years! When you consider how little use this car has had, and the prices classic air cooled cars sell for, this seems like an actual bargain. This really begs the question though of who owned this, and how many other awesome cars must they have to have let this one sit.
