I called Discount Tire and they said the 315/30/18 does not have the weight rating for my car, but the 305/35/18 does. I just need to be convinced that it's ok to buy the 315's, or steered clear. I know the 996 GT3 guys run the 315's all day long, my car may be a tad heavier.

I am on stock suspension except for front camber plates and -2.16 deg front camber, -2 deg rear camber.

So the big question, is it "unsafe" to run the 315/30/18 on my 997 Carrera S at the track, as well as to an from? For what it's worth, I have no mufflers and no Bose sub on the rear shelf, so I am a little lighter than stock.

This is for track use.

I run 245/40/ZR18 and 315/35/ZR18 on my GTS on 9" and 12" wheels respectively on track. They work just fine for me and most of the GT3 RS guys I know who use them. I am going to switch to 305/35/18 next season since the side wall will have less potential to rollover.

I do not know anyone on 315/30s actually.

Tire Rack knows what they are talking about (usually). You could check the load rating of the tire online. Surprisingly, I did a quick Google search and couldn't find anything.

Steer clear of the NT01 315/30/18. Go with the 305/35...
