Default any recommendations on a good street tire, may be a track day

Looking for a good street tire for my 05 997.1. I have 19" rims. I may do a track day once a year but mostly street and i do not drive the car every day.

Thanks

Had Michelin Super Sports on two late Porsche's, a 997s, and now a GT3. They wear well, and are really good in the rain. Reasonably quiet, and quite a bargain, esp considering the wear the give.

all the best...

So what did you get? Michelin is a good tire though quiet expensive.

MPSS sound perfect, esp if you daren't in the advanced run groups. Quiet, comfortable and very capable. If you track more often and the outside edge wears prematurely, then AD08R would be the remedy, or Re-11. Harder sidewall so you give a tad in comfort and noise, and they aren't quite as brilliant in the wet.

Has anyone tried Bridgestone Potenza's? I had them on a Z06 Corvette and they were excellent as far as ride and noise and had phenomenal traction. When the factory Goodyear tires got older (and HARDER) I could spin the tires at 70 in 3rd gear just by flooring the throttle. With the Bridgestone's I could be running at 20 in 1st gear and punch it and the tires would hold full power.
