Default 305/35ZR18 for 997 18" stock wheel. Would it fit?

Would 305/35ZR18 tires fit 18" Carrera rear wheels (18x10 58ET) for a 997 non-S without rubbing the fender? Looking at getting some Toyo R888's.

Unlikely, especially if the car is lowered. It's 26.5" tall almost, and that's in inch taller than stock. The R888 is also a very square tire, so it's going to be wider in section width from shoulder to shoulder than a regular performance tire will. It will fit a 10" wide wheel, but If you ever plan to lower the car, they will probably rub.

But... I thought my OE tires ( Michelin PS2 265/40R18 ) was also 26.3" tall?

I currently have no plans to lower my car.

Alternatively, should I go with 275/35R18 or 295/30R18? Thanks!

Height is not a problem. 295-305 tires really like 11" rims to fit perfectly especially for track. 305 is even better for 12" to avoid flexing according to many.
