Contact updates for Boise area Porsche mechanics
I'm considering buying an older Boxster as a fixer upper intro to Porsches....
Needing a list of local mechanics to perform a PPI, this and other forums gave me a couple of names. But the contact information was sadly dated. I'm posting the following to help out others looking for a shop in the Boise area.
"Red" Jones dba Motorsports Northwest. Supposed to be the go-to guy in Boise.
Oldest address: 511 Americana Blvd. Boise. Moved about 4 years ago.
Older address: 119 E 46th St. Boise.....shop vacant and closed up. Neighboring chopper mechanic told me Red moved out summer of 2013 and is working on air-cooled Porsches only out of his house. Answering machine at 208-345-9444 picks up but I haven't received a call back to confirm the chopper mechanic's story.
Gregg Heering dba Greg's Autohaus.
Old address 2800 W. Idaho St. Boise. I walked in there since Gregg's sign was still up BUT it's now a beer brewing supply company. Too lazy to repaint over Gregg's sign out front.
New and correct address: 109 E. 41st St. Garden City 83714

Gregg says he wants $180 for a "basic" PPI on a Boxster. I'll negotiate price when I have a candidate car in hand.
