Being offered for sale is this original paint, survivor, time capsule 1986 Porsche 930 Turbo VIN# WPOJB0937GS050419 with 3 previous owners of which are all known. The vehicle was bought new at Roger Jobs Porsche in Bellingham, WA on April 3rd 1986 and has been a Washington adult owned and maintained for its entire lifetime. It currently has less than 65,000 miles and comes with a handful of dealer receipts and documented Porsche maintenance book dating back to when new. It had an aftermarket warranty upon purchase by the 2nd owner which maintained the vehicle until 65,000 miles, so it was always kept up with by the dealership in its youth.
It has documented motor and transmission rebuild at 60,000 miles by a well known air cooled specialist here in Seattle, WA (John Walker's Workshop) in 2012. During this engine out service ARP rod bolts and steel head studs were used to remediate a weak link on these motors. Rod bearings, rings, honed cylinders, valve grind, valve guides, gaskets, plugs, valve adjustment, and fluids were changed at this time. Other recent records indicate work performed on the following: shocks, ignition module, ignition coil, vacuum lines, battery, fuel pump, fuel filter, airbag, ignition rotor, distributor cap, air filter, air pump filter, cv boots, oil pressure sender, shift linkage coupler, windshield washer pump, heater cable, windshield seal, L and R window seals, lens seals, headlight gaskets, door seals all new since 2012 as well.
The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity or COA from Porsche Cars North America is provided for the vehicle showing its original color (Guards Red G1 - factory-installed options (which include Sport Seats w/power, sliding sunroof, alarm and more), production date (11/25/1986). The vehicle was originally equipped with m930/68 engine number 68G00423 and g930/36 transmission number 77G00703 of which photo documentation is provided to show that the original numbers matching engine and transmission are still intact. (see Flickr gallery for full photoset)
This car comes with recent documented paint depth gauge readings and shows all original paint throughout with the exception of the flag mirror tops. The paint looks amazing for its age and originality and with that a buyer can be assured the vehicle has never been wrecked of which many on the market have been painted and still don't show as well as this vehicle does. The uncracked dashboard, interior carpeting, leather and details show extremely well for a car that has survived the test of time, meticulous garaging and care provided by its previous owners.
The car starts, runs, drives and stops without issue. A plethora of images have been uploaded to a flickr album as well as a video walk around on youtube to satisfy any desires to see its condition. (See bottom for links) I would happily work with potential buyers to set up a pre purchase inspection at a shop of your choice upon interest however I do believe the car is without issue currently and is ready for a new owner.
If the buyer so desires, the vehicle would come with another set of period correct turbo-width chrome fuchs as well.
Stamped and filled out books, tools, compressor, jack and spare tire including original tire changing gloves and plastic tire storage bag are unused and intact.
Original owner owned for 1 year and then sold back to the dealership due to high insurance and speeding tickets, and then owned from 1987 to 2011 by the 2nd owner and the 3rd owner did extensive maintenance from 2011 onward. This vehicle is currently privately owned and offered for sale but photography including studio work was done by a professional.
This vehicle shows very well cosmetically as the paintwork is glossy and original with excellent panel gaps and has a straight body with no large dents. There are no modifications done to this vehicle with the exception of the aftermarket head unit and speakers.
Engine compartment shows well with some repainting and new motor tin installed at the time of the engine out rebuild, the engine compartment looks nearly new.
All original glass still remains Sekurit and W. Germany produced Sigla windshield only shows minimal micro pitting.
Leather seats are without rips, and has very little bolster wear for the age, remains supple and retains elasticity.
Only 1424 examples of the 1986 Turbo 911 Coupe were produced for the US market, making this an opportunity to own a rare unwrecked/unmolested and well preserved example of a limited production vehicle. This vehicle is 50 state legal due to the emissions systems and catalytic converters still intact.
This is an excellent opportunity to own a collectable, original paint survivor with excellent preservation , authenticity and proper maintenance have been considered throughout its lifetime. Albeit this vehicle is not in concours condition, I would without a doubt imagine it to win in any properly judged preservation class due to its originality. Finding another non refinished, unmolested stock example as clean and that presents as well would be difficult. Honest and tight example.
Clean CarFax/vehicle report and no accident history. Clean title. No stories.
Always been in climate-controlled storage with all owners.
Expertly cleaned and detailed, revealing the full extent of its outstanding condition and original paint.
