Same ad posted on Pelican by user name " Galileo". Pretty sure it's the owner of Top Gear in nj. "Goofy" most likely means: sell me your car cheap so I can *** rape an unsuspecting customer.....

Plenty of sh!tboxes out there. Nice cars selling for well over 6 figures. Maybe not as high as 12 months ago, but still bringing good $$$

Does that not show just how large of a discrepancy there is right now in the market between what a dealer thinks the car is worth as opposed to what an actual buyer is currently willing to pay for it?
I hear/read about these "behind the scenes" sales all the time where the really good cars are "supposedly" changing hands for top money yet we never see a history of the actual sale let alone a final price. Hell in most cases we don't even see the car in question just a rumor that the sale has occurred. I don't doubt sales like this are taking place but it's hard to just take people's word for it. What you can see however are asking prices and actual no reserve final selling prices on ebay which clearly show the market trending downwards. So many cars currently listed have been for sale for months now. Dealers are sitting on inventory that they bought up a year ago when the bubble was at its highest. Now they're trying to offload it at a price that made sense 12 months ago but simply doesn't float in the current market. I'm shopping at the moment for a solid 84-98 driver and I see no reason to not hold off for another few months with the way the market is trending.

No doubt the prices have gotten a reality slap. But all of the market has. There were a pile of get rich quick dealers snapping them up for the turn, over reached and got left high and dry. No tears for them. But even still most had stories they were willing to overlook for the quick sale but the discriminating buyer will not, so it sits.
I don't put any credence in eBay bids as they are typically trolling, even on eBay the real deals happen offline between parties. If you want a good indicator of market level call canepa.

This particular car was actually for sale by owner on autotrader for many months however I think it finally sold prior to the scammer creating this auction.
