Before you jump to conclusion. Make sure you know the facts.
Fact is, I listed my car for a GREAT PRICE, because I want to get rid of it quickly.
Fact is, I held the car for U OLD DOG for over 10 days. I never cashed in his deposit. In fact, he told me I could sell the car if someone else comes in before him.
Fact is, U OLD DOG suffered no lost what so ever.
Fact is, U OLD DOG could not close the deal for at least another week.
Next time you try to sell a car, see what you would do if a buyer leaves a deposit and hold onto your car for 2 weeks.
If that still puts into the "black list", so be it. I resign from Rennlist!

When we made the deal you were aware of the closing date, I offered to wire you the funds, you had me send you the check with a tracking number. On 4/20 I texted you that our deal would close on 5/2 you did not text me back until 4/26 saying you had to back out of the deal because you had another buyer… Still have not received my deposit check back… Just a lack of integrity on your part…

After taking a deposit from my buyer on the Turbo S I held it for him per the terms of that agreement.
I sent you a purchase agreement which clearly detailed the terms and closing date.. I guess with your PHD, you somehow forgot to read it... buyer beware

It's clear that there was a break down of communication and I can see both sides having some fault in it.
I have bought and sold many cars to private parties and it's almost always a huge headache. This car WAS priced fairly aggressively (I'm be slightly surprised if a dealer wouldn't have matched that price!). I have accepted deposits from people and had them back out causing me to miss out on potential buyers, which is a huge pain. I've never felt right about not sending back the entire deposit either, so my new rule is that I just don't take them. Either you're ready to buy the car or you aren't. I can see a few days to get financing in place or something like that, but multiple weeks? Sorry, not going to hold the car that long.
But, it sounds like the buyer with the deposit tried his best to communicate clearly as well. I don't know the particulars of the deal, but I also don't consider a deal done until it's fully funded, etc. As the seller, I would not have waited that long for a buyer to get funds in place, but I try to make that clear up front.
